My take.
I did some misting and gessoing at the corners and sides of the layout.. after layering the chevrons from the patterned papers of Indie Chic collection..
A close-up on the layerings with the printed title on the leftover scraps of patterned paper..

I am loving your interpretation of the sketch. I wouldn't have thought to use a die cut instead of rectangles behind the photo. The gesso around the edges was also a really nice touch. :)
