CSI #32/Once Upon A... Sketch Aug 2012 - Sentosa Sandsation'99

Yoohoo everyone! Hope everyone had been enjoying their week :) Its a new week at CSI again - Case #32 is so nautical-themed!
And the always-wonderful coordinates to help along with solving the case file...

And i used the sketch from Once upon a Sketch Aug 2012 and I journalled about a childhood memory which was a beach trip when i was 6years old :)

 And the results?
I loved all the colors in this case file, and have just tried this "messy-style" for the first time lol
Some closeups..
(Starfishes and seashells)
 (Gesso over the twine netting)
(Gold & Brown sand embossing powder to have a sandy feeling)

(Chicken wire embossing folder inked with Bark & gesso)
 (My handmade twine-netting/mesh!)

I used all the colors stated..
For the evidence I used:
- Stars (the starfish at the corner)
- Wet medium (I used gesso for the first time on the handmade "mesh")
- Textured paper (I used 2 embossing folders and gesso-ed the twines, and embossing powder at the btm)
- Dots (from embossing folder)
- Something grainy (Gold & Brown sand embossing powder at the btm)
- Mesh/Netting (handmade by using twines)
Testimony:
- Document about a beach trip..
It was a trip to our local sentosa beach where it was holding an event called Sentosa Sandsation in the year 1999, I guess it was also my first trip to the beach too hehe :)

Supplies used:
- Kraft cardstock
- CSI coordinates 32
- gesso
- twine
- blue glitter thickers from American Crafts
- Black alphas from Prima marketing
- Journaling tickets from Tim Holtz
- Gold & Brown sand embossing powder from Zing
- Bark ink pad from VersaColor
- Glue tape/3D dots/Craft glue from Beacons

Thanks for looking and feel free to comment! Have fun playing with the case files! :)

  5. What a great job combining both challenges! That's great...nice job on using the gold embossing to simulate sand and your handmade netting. Also the gesso added a nice texture to the background. Thanks for joining us at OUAS!
